Programmatic Manager

The Gate is seeking an experienced, detail oriented, high energy and organized person to join our growing media department as a Programmatic Manager in the Union Square area of NYC.

This role requires the individual to have a start-up mentality and be willing to help shape strategy, processes and our programmatic product offering. The ideal candidate should be looking for a role where they have an opportunity to be active in the creation of a programmatic proposition and be keen to work closely with other departments (planning and analytics).

Working collaboratively alongside the Media Director and Channel Planners this individual will develop the display, video, and other emerging channel offerings (aligned to the ever changing landscape) and ensure the timely setup and delivery of campaigns.

We are looking for an individual with experience across the main DSPs and other ad tech tools and is adept at both bidding and reservation buying methods as well as working to a range of different KPIs, metrics and outcomes.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Help setup and develop future proofed programmatic products (ex. post-cookie targeting) and trading strategies for multiple channels and markets.

  • Serve as the key player in kick-off meetings, client relationship management, ad-serving, tech stack implementation, campaign optimization, and quarterly business planning.

  • Maintain overall responsibility and management for campaigns including setup, trafficking, performance, delivery, and reporting and undertake day to day optimizations.

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key DSPs, data, brand safety and contextual partners.

  • Work with clients on campaign strategy, testing and forecasting, and outcomes based on agreed KPIs.

  • Work with internal teams (ad operations, analytics, planning) to develop an integrated programmatic strategy (including approaches to DCO, remarketing and reporting).

  • Help design in-platform best practice and put in place new campaign activation processes.

  • Help design custom bidding and automation products for campaign and workflow efficiencies.

  • Troubleshoot issues on all pre-production and live campaigns.

  • Surface insights to broader teams as well as present findings back to clients.

  • Training and support of junior team members.

  • Advise clients on industry trends, the competitive landscape, and the respective client impact.

  • Keep up to date with digital marketing industry and programmatic platform updates to identify new opportunities for clients’ growth.

  • Partner cross-functionally to assist with proposal responses, technical demos, and marketing efforts, including integrated media efforts and case studies.

Qualifications and Education Experience

  • Have a strong understanding of the programmatic and ad tech landscape and regularly provide perspectives on challenges and opportunities with a specific focus on the utility of 1st party data, the loss of cookies and any other topics deemed important.

  • Experience developing, building, executing, and optimizing campaigns via DV360, MediaMath and The Trade Desk, as well as other platforms.

  • Strong analytical skills (experience with data visualization a bonus) and understanding of various effectiveness and attribution methods.

  • Confident client facing and presentation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to interface with key clients.

  • Be highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Possess a proactive approach and be self-motivated and resourceful.

  • The ability to multitask and prioritize across multiple projects is paramount along with the ability to work independently.

  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).

  • Strong data analysis abilities (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and statistical analysis).

  • Excellent consultative approach when developing and managing business relationships.

  • Leadership abilities and experience supervising and supporting junior team members.

Experience

  • Ideal candidate should have 4+ years relevant experience in programmatic trading (candidates from agency, client, sell-side all welcome).

  • BA or equivalent with an emphasis on marketing, business or coursework of a quantitative nature; preferably a degree in Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or Statistics.
